As part of  our house decoration we sometimes place plates with incredible designs or colors that attract attention and give a special touch to our spaces. As many of us know plates have many uses, from the fact that we use them to place our food as well as using them as jewelers or organizers and even as decorative items. There are even people who are dedicated to collecting this type of plates, since when you travel you can find special representative designs from different countries. / Como parte de la decoración de nuestro hogar a veces ponemos platos con diseños o colores increíbles que llamen la atención y le den un toque especial a nuestros espacios. Como muchos sabemos los platos tienen muchos usos, desde el hecho de utilizarlos para poner nuestra comida, hasta emplearlos de joyeros u organizadores y hasta como artículos decorativos. Incluso hay personas que se dedican a coleccionar este tipo de platos ya que cuando viajas se pueden encontrar con diseños representativos de los distintos países.

How many people do we know that cannot even stand the sight of a spider? For some people these type of insects can be insignificant, however for many others they can cause feelings of repulsion and fear. Spiders have been one of the oldest and most common type of phobias, this fear for spiders is known as arachnophobia. Spiders trigger a response of disgust in people and have been associated, since many years ago, to infections and diseases. / ¿A cuántas personas conocemos que no soportan si quiera la presencia de una araña? Para algunas personas nos parecen insignificantes estos insectos, sin embargo a otros nos provocan repulsión o miedo. Las arañas han sido una de las fobias más antiguas y comunes, este miedo a las arañas se conoce como aracnofobia. Las arañas provocan una respuesta de asco en las personas y se han asociado desde hace muchos años a infecciones y enfermedades.

Dry air clay jewelry tutorial/Joyería de pasta moldeable tutorial

Do you love jewelry? Then why not make your own! Dry air clay is almost like playing with play-doh, except that when it dries it becomes solid. On my previous post I made a tutorial on How to make a car planter with dry air clay? / ¿Cómo hacer una maceta de coche con pasta moldeable? that was also made with this material. This is a really easy project and you can shape the beads to your own style. / ¿Te gustan las joyas? ¿Por qué no hacer las tuyas? La pasta moldeable es casi como jugar con play-doh, excepto que cuando se seca esta se solidifica. En mi última publicación, hice un tutorial respecto How to make a car planter with dry air clay? / ¿Cómo hacer una maceta de coche con pasta moldeable?., este también fue construido con el mismo material que vamos a utilizar para hacer este proyecto. Hexagonal wall painting tutorial/ Tutorial pintar pared hexágonos

Thinking of giving your house or a special room a new look? I was looking for a way to bring more light to my grandmothers kitchen, so I decided to make a colorful hexagonal design by painting on the kitchen wall. If you like it you should give it a try, it was really simple to do and I think it accomplished my goal. / ¿Estas pensando en darle un nuevo look a tu casa o algún cuarto en específico? Estuve buscando la forma de traer un poco más de luz a la cocina de mi abuelita y se me ocurrió pintar un diseño colorido con hexágonos. Si les gusta, fue muy sencillo de hacer y creo que realmente se cumplió el objetivo.

Make a dog bed in a tire / Haz una cama de perro en una llanta

Ever wondered what happened to all those used tires? They mostly become trash, and if you’re all for helping the environment well this isn’t something we want. For this project I took an abandoned tire in the street, cleaned it up and made it a cool dog bed you and your dog will love. The idea is to reuse and repurpose all those items or products that only help increase contamination. / ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado qué pasó con todos esos neumáticos usados? En su mayoría se convierten en basura y si esta a favor de ayudar al medio ambiente, no es algo que queremos. Para este proyecto, tomé una llanta abandonada en la calle, la limpié y la hice una cama para perros que a ti y a tu perro les encantará. La idea es reutilizar y re-adaptar todos aquellos artículos o productos que solo ayudan a aumentar la contaminación.

Step by step DIY pegboard/ Paso por paso tablero de clavijas DIY

Lately, after accumulating many materials for crafting my room has gotten cluttered. So I wanted to have a new way of organizing my materials without the necessity of having several boxes or bags to keep them in, therefore taking up too much space in my room. This is how I came to developing a pegboard. It is a simple activity anyone can do it, it will just take creativity when it comes to arranging your stuff on the pegboard. For me this was the most tedious part since I couldn’t decide at first the way I wanted it. / Últimamente, después de acumular muchos materiales para elaborar mis manualidades, mi habitación se volvió un desorden con muchas cosas tomando espacio. Así que quise buscar una nueva forma de organizar mis materiales sin la necesidad de tener varias cajas o bolsas para guardarlos, y por lo tanto que ocuparan demasiado espacio en mi habitación. Así es como llegué a desarrollar una tabla de clavijas. Es una actividad simple que cualquiera puede realizar, solo tomará creatividad a la hora de organizar tus cosas en el tablero. Para mí esta fue la parte más tediosa, ya que al principio no podía decidir de la manera en que las quería.

Have you ever wondered how many crafts you can do with crates? There are so many and to think they are so cheap! Crates are usually used in markets for carrying fruits and vegetables. They are made of wood and are basically boxes. After they have served their purpose they are usually disposed, this is why thinking of recycling them and giving them another purpose comes in handy. / ¿Alguna vez te has preguntado cuántas manualidades puedes hacer con huacales? ¡Hay tantas y pensar que son tan baratas! Los huacales se usan generalmente en los mercados para transportar frutas y verduras. Están hechas de madera y son básicamente cajas. Una vez que han cumplido su propósito, generalmente son desechadas por eso es útil pensar en reciclarlas y darles otro propósito.

Design your pots with this tutorial / Diseña tus macetas tutorial

I have always loved garden decorations, having a beautiful place is important since I believe it is a special place in our house where we are able to relax for a while and enjoy a bit of air and sun light. That is why you should invest time and creativity to make sure out garden is looking great. Sometimes little details can really bring out the colors in a place, for example pots. If you feel that your garden is in need of some color this is a great way to do so, and best of all it is an easy craft you can do yourself. / Siempre me han encantado las decoraciones de jardín, tener un lugar hermoso es importante ya que creo que es un lugar especial en nuestra casa donde podemos relajarnos un rato y disfrutar de un poco de aire y sol. Es por eso que debes invertir tiempo y creatividad para asegurarte de que el jardín se vea genial. A veces, los pequeños detalles realmente pueden resaltar los colores en un lugar, por ejemplo las macetas. Si sientes que tú jardín necesita un poco de color, esta es una excelente manera de hacerlo y lo mejor de todo es que es una artesanía fácil que puedes hacer tú mismo.

I recommend designing and painting your own pots, besides being a fun activity you will be getting the results you want at a low cost. When I tried shopping for fun color pot designs, they were mostly ugly. They barely sold pots with any kind of design, and usually offered the plain colored ones and if they had any design the price would go way up. This is why I decided to transform simple ceramic pots into colorful ones with amazing designs. In this tutorial I will give you the base for painting pots, and hopefully you’ll love it as much as I did and decorate your whole garden with pots made by you. / Recomiendo diseñar y pintar sus propias macetas, además de ser una actividad divertida obtendrás los resultados que deseas a un bajo costo. Cuando intenté comprar diseños divertidos de macetas de colores en su mayoría eran feos. Apenas vendían macetas con cualquier tipo de diseño y generalmente ofrecían las de color liso y si tenían algún diseño el precio se elevaba mucho. Es por eso que decidí transformar macetas de cerámica simples en coloridas con diseños increíbles. En este tutorial te daré la base para pintar macetas y con suerte te encantará tanto como a mí y decorarás todo tu jardín con macetas hechas por ti.
