Are you the kind of person who usually finds yourself looking for your notes around the house or office? Maybe some kind of important documents, invitations, or such. Sometimes there is only so much information we can retain in our memory, so we resort to post-its or paper to write things down. Yet, if we are not very organized then we might find ourselves loosing these notes or important documents. / ¿Eres el tipo de persona que generalmente se encuentra buscando sus notas en la casa u oficina? Tal vez algún tipo de documento importante, invitaciones entre otros. A veces solo podemos retener una cierta cantidad de información en nuestra memoria, por lo que recurrimos a post-its o papel para escribir las cosas. Sin embargo, si no somos muy organizados, podríamos perder las notas o documentos importantes.

The Day of the Dead is a Mexican tradition in which the dead are honored and celebrated. In Mexico this holiday is celebrated for two days, the first day is when it is believed that the souls of children arrive and the 2nd of November when the souls of the adults arrive. The most representative element of this holiday are the altars of the dead, which are full of meaning. / El Día de muertos es una tradición mexicana donde se le celebra y honra a los muertos. En México el día de los muertos se celebra durante dos días, el 1 que es cuando se cree que llegan las almas de los niños y el 2 de noviembre que es cuando llegan las almas de los adultos. El elemento más representativo de esta festividad son los altares de muertos, los cuales están llenos de significado.

Without really thinking about it, over the years we have been relating certain colors to festivities, the best example would be Christmas. When we think of Christmas, colors like red, green and white come to mind. Another example would be Valentine’s Day that bring us red and pink colors. However, when we think of Halloween, the colors we think of are orange and black. But what meaning do these two colors have and why do we relate them to Halloween? / Sin realmente pensarlo a través de los años hemos ido relacionando ciertos colores con festividades, el mejor ejemplo sería Navidad. Cuando pensamos en Navidad se nos vienen a la mente colores como el rojo, verde y el blanco. Otro ejemplo sería San Valentín que nos traen colores rojos y rosas. Sin embargo, cuando pensamos en Halloween los colores en los que pensamos son el naranja y el negro. ¿Pero que significado tienen estos dos colores y porque los relacionamos con Halloween?

I am a very messy person and have an obsession for bags, I just love them. But the problem that comes with having too many bags is that there is no place to put them without them taking too much space. There is no such thing as furniture for bags, except for coat racks or maybe making space in your closet to pay for a personalized bag section. Anyways, the only thing out there are within a reasonable budget are coat racks. / Soy una persona muy desordenada y tengo una obsesión por las bolsas, simplemente las amo. Pero el problema que conlleva tener demasiadas bolsas es que no hay lugar para colocarlas sin que ocupen demasiado espacio. No existen muebles para bolsos, excepto percheros o tal vez solo que manden hacer en una sección de su closet un espacio personalizado para bolsos. De todos modos, lo único que hay dentro de un presupuesto razonable son los percheros.

Have you seen those amazing cutting tables with great designs? I always loved them so I wanted to make one of my own. A technique called pyrography can help you burn your designs into wood. It’s a pretty easy technique and I thought it would be a great craft you could try out. / ¿Has visto esas tablas de cortar con increíbles diseños? Siempre me encantaron, así que quería hacer una propia. Una técnica llamada pirografía puede ayudarte a quemar sus diseños en madera. Es una técnica bastante fácil y pensé que sería una gran manualidad que podrían probar.

Step by step DIY pegboard/ Paso por paso tablero de clavijas DIY

Lately, after accumulating many materials for crafting my room has gotten cluttered. So I wanted to have a new way of organizing my materials without the necessity of having several boxes or bags to keep them in, therefore taking up too much space in my room. This is how I came to developing a pegboard. It is a simple activity anyone can do it, it will just take creativity when it comes to arranging your stuff on the pegboard. For me this was the most tedious part since I couldn’t decide at first the way I wanted it. / Últimamente, después de acumular muchos materiales para elaborar mis manualidades, mi habitación se volvió un desorden con muchas cosas tomando espacio. Así que quise buscar una nueva forma de organizar mis materiales sin la necesidad de tener varias cajas o bolsas para guardarlos, y por lo tanto que ocuparan demasiado espacio en mi habitación. Así es como llegué a desarrollar una tabla de clavijas. Es una actividad simple que cualquiera puede realizar, solo tomará creatividad a la hora de organizar tus cosas en el tablero. Para mí esta fue la parte más tediosa, ya que al principio no podía decidir de la manera en que las quería.

We can get creative and make different shapes, but for this tutorial we’ll make a hexagonal shaped shelf. We can adapt these shelves to our living room or interior space by painting it at the end. / Podemos ayudar a contribuir al medio ambiente utilizando palitos de paleta de madera reciclados para crear un hermoso estante. Igualmente podríamos ser creativos y crear diferentes formas, pero para este tutorial crearemos uno con la forma de un hexágono.
