DIY Homemade Cork Stamps / Sellos Caseros de Corchos DIY

There is nothing more boring than being stuck at home with nothing to do, even the thought of it seemed unreal until now. Being asked to stay at home is one thing, but when the days seem endless then we might start losing our minds. That is why we should actually try to make the best of this time and dedicate time for indoor hobbies, like crafting for example. / No hay nada más aburrido que estar encerrado en casa sin nada que hacer, incluso la idea de esto parecía irreal hasta ahora. Que te pidan que te quedes en casa es una cosa, pero cuando los días parecen interminables entonces podemos comenzar a perder la cabeza. Es por eso que deberíamos tratar de aprovechar al máximo este tiempo y dedicarle tiempo a los pasatiempos que podamos realizar en el interior de nuestro hogar, como las manualidades por ejemplo.

I saw this quote that said “Crafting each day, keeps the crazy away”, I do believe it is true. It keeps people entertained and you can also develop creative and crafting skills, besides creating some amazing things. / Vi una frase que decía “Elaborar cada día, mantiene alejado a la locura”, creo que es cierto. Mantiene a la gente entretenida y también puedes desarrollar habilidades creativas y de artesanía, además de crear cosas increíbles.

This tutorial came to me as inspiration from a recent video on how people have been drinking a lot more than normal due to being stuck at home. So you might as well have many corks laying around for this craft already. / Este tutorial me llegó como inspiración, después de ver un video sobre cómo las personas han estado bebiendo mucho más de lo normal a causa de estar encerrados en casa. Por lo tanto, es posible que ya tengas muchos corchos por ahí para esta manualidad.

What materials do you need? / ¿Qué materiales necesitan?

• Corks / Corchos
• Marker / Marcador
• Cutter / Cúter
• Paint / Pintura
• Someting to stamp / Algo que estampar

Steps / Pasos:

1. Take a colored marker and draw the shape of the stamp you want in one of the corners of your cork. In this case I will make several letters and a heart. / Toma un marcador de color y pinta la forma de la estampa que quieres en una esquina del corcho. En mi caso haré varias letras y un corazón.

2. With a razor or cutter carefully cut around your design. We need to leave what we painted with the marker “free” so that when we put paint on it, it just stamps our design. / Con una navaja o cutter corta alrededor de tu diseño con cuidado. Necesitamos dejar “libre” lo que pintamos con el marcador para que cuando le pongamos pintura solamente de estampe nuestro diseño.

3. Now that you have your stamps cut out and ready, we can start by taking some paint and placing it on a board or paper. This way you can spread your paint and then with your stamp grab an even amount of paint for stamping your designs. / Ahora que tienes tus sellos recortados y listos, podemos comenzar tomando pintura y poniéndola en una tabla o papel. De esta manera la podemos difundir y después con nuestro sello agarrar pintura de manera uniforme para estampar nuestros diseños.

Actually I made a mistake when I made my letters, since since we are going to be stamping on surfaces we need the letters to be read backwards. Otherwise, when they are stamped, they will turn out backwards instead of how we want them. / En realidad cometí un error cuando hice mis letras, ya que como vamos a estar estampando en superficies necesitamos que las letras se lean al revés. De lo contrario al estamparlas saldrán al revés en lugar de como las queremos.
