Make an Olaf kids party game/Haz un juego de fiesta infantil Olaf

When it comes to kids parties whether they are your own, one of your family’s or a friends, it is always a bit stressful to think about the food, the decoration and the theme of the party and the games or activities the kids will participate in. Specially because you want to make sure that everyone has a good time and they are kept entertained. / Cuando se trata de fiestas infantiles ya sea de tus hijos, de familiares o de amigos, siempre es un poco estresante pensar en la comida, la decoración, el tema de la fiesta y los juegos o actividades en los que los niños participarán. Especialmente porque quieres asegurarte de que todos se diviertan y se entretengan.

Recently I came up with a Frozen themed party, Frozen is a Disney movie that girls love now a days, or at least my nieces do. As part of the decoration I created a snowman (representing Olaf, one of the movies characters) where they could take the eyes, arms, buttons, etc. off and then place them back on to reconstruct Olaf. / Hace poco se me ocurrió una fiesta temática de Frozen. Frozen es una película de Disney que les encanta a las niña hoy en día, o al menos a mis sobrinas. Como parte de la decoración, creé un muñeco de nieve (que representa a Olaf, uno de los personajes de la película), donde podían tomar los ojos, los brazos, los botones, etc. y volver a colocarlos para reconstruir Olaf.

I must say the craft took around 10 minutes to complete and it was very easy to do and cheap. / Debo decir que la manualidad me tomo alrededor de 10 minutos en completar y fue muy fácil de hacer y barata.

What materials do you need? / ¿Qué materiales necesitas?

• Cardboard / Cartulina
• 1 white sheet of paper, 1 orange sheet of paper and 1 black sheet of paper / 1 hoja blanca de papel, 1 hoja naranja de papel, 1 hoja negra de papel
• White paint / Pintura blanca
• Brush / Pincel
• Masking tape / Masking tape

Steps / Pasos: 

1. We are going to start by taking a pencil or a light marker and tracing the shape of the snowman. / Vamos a comenzar tomando un lápiz o un marcador claro para trazar la forma del muñeco de nieve.

2. With white paint fill in the snowman’s shape, you can leave it like mine or fill it in completely. With a marker trace small stems on top of the snowman’s head, eyebrows and a smile with a big tooth. / Con una pintura blanca rellena la forma del muñeco de nieve, puedes dejarla como la mía o llenarla por completo. Con un marcador traza pequeños tallos sobre la cabeza del muñeco de nieve, cejas y una sonrisa con un gran diente.

3. Using the color sheet papers we are going to cut the missing pieces of our snowman. We can take the orange paper to make the shape of a carrot for the nose, and if you don’t have a brown colored paper you can use the same orange paper to make the arms with the shape of branches. / Usando las hojas de color vamos a cortar las piezas que faltan de nuestro muñeco de nieve. Podemos tomar el papel naranja para hacer la forma de la zanahoria que será la nariz y si no tienes un papel de color café, puedes usar el mismo papel naranja para hacer los brazos en forma de ramas.

For the eyes cut two big white paper ovals and paint the pupils with a black marker. With the same white paper we are going to make the snowman’s feet by cutting two big ovals. As the final touch we can cut three circles for the buttons in blue or other colored paper. / Para los ojos, corta dos grandes óvalos de papel blanco y pinta las pupilas con un marcador negro. Con el mismo papel blanco haremos los pies del muñeco de nieve, corta dos grandes óvalos. Como toque final podemos cortar tres círculos para los botones en una hoja azul o de otro color.

Once you have all the pieces, place a rolled piece of masking tape on the back so that you can paste and detach the piece. And you are done! / Una vez que tengas todas las piezas, coloca un trozo de cinta adhesiva enrollada en la parte posterior para que puedas pegar y separar la pieza. ¡Y ya está!
