How to make Halloween bottles?/¿Cómo hacer Botellas de Halloween?

Halloween is my favorite time of the year! When we were little we got to have lots of fun, getting dressed with cool scary customes or maybe not scary but it was like our fantasy was becoming real that day. If you wanted to be a princess you got to be it, or a scary monster you had it! And to make things even better you got to go out hunting for some delicious candy. At the end of the day it was all about the experience you had, facing others, trying to distinguish your friends through their customes, and counting how much candy you had been able to collect. / ¡Halloween es mi época favorita del año! Cuando éramos pequeños nos divertíamos mucho, era vestirnos con atuendos geniales y aterradores o tal vez no aterradores, pero era como si nuestra fantasías se volviera realidad ese día. Si querías ser una princesa ¡podías serlo! o un monstruo aterrador. Y para hacer las cosas aún mejor, te tocaba salir a buscar deliciosos dulces. Al final del día, todo se trataba de la experiencia que tuviste, enfrentarte a los demás, tratar de distinguir a tus amigos a través de sus disfraces y contar la cantidad de dulces que recolectaste.

I would usually mesmerize at the end of the day about the houses that had made an extra effort of decorating their house. It was pretty awesome. / Por lo general, me quedaría pensando al final del día sobre las casas que habían hecho un esfuerzo adicional para decorar su casa. Era bastante padre.

Since I really love this holiday, I will be sharing several crafts over the next weeks. I want you all to be prepared on time for it and have such a great time too. This craft involves glass bottles, therefore it does not require a high money investment. / Como realmente me encanta esta festividad, compartiré varias manualidades durante las próximas semanas. Quiero que todos estén preparados a tiempo y que la pasen muy bien también. Esta manualidad involucra reciclar botellas de vidrio, por lo que no requiere mucha inversión.

Materials needed / Materiales necesarios:

• Glass bottles / Botellas de vidrio
• Acrylic paints (black, white, orange, and green) / Pinturas acrílicas (negro, blanco, naranja, y verde)
• Brushes / Pinceles
• Varnish spray / Barníz en spray

Steps / Pasos:

1. Clean throughly each bottle, you don’t want any dirty spot to sabotage your design. / Limpie a fondo cada botella, no queremos que ningúna mancha sabotee el diseño.

Ghost Bottle / Botella Fantasma

1. Start by painting the bottle in a white color, you will have to let it dry a few times and paint it again to make sure the bottle is covered completely. / Comienza pintando la botella de color blanco, tendrás que dejar que se seque varias veces y pintarla repetidas veces para asegurarte de que la botella esté completamente cubierta.

2. Once it is completely white, you can start painting with the black color the shape of your eyes and the mouth. You can make the bottle have one face in front of the bottle and one on the opposite side. So on the side you see you can see a ghost. / Una vez que este completamente blanca, podrás comenzar a pintar con el color negro la forma de sus ojos y su boca. Puedes hacer que la botella tenga una cara por en frente de la botella y otra del lado opuesto. Así del lado que la veas podrás ver un fantasma.

 

Frankenstein Bottle / Botella Frankenstein

1. Just like we did with the ghost bottle, paint the bottle completely with a green color. Cover it a few times to make sure it is covered completely. / Al igual que hicimos con la botella de fantasma, pinta la botella completa con un color verde. Píntala varias veces para asegurarte de que esté completamente cubierta.

2. Take the white paint and make the shape of the eyes, then let it dry. Now take the black paint and make the the eyebrow, contour the outline of the eyes and pupils. With an organge painting make the shape of the mouth. / Toma la pintura blanca y haz la forma de los ojos y deja que se seque. Ahora con la pintura negra vamos a delinear la ceja, pintar el contorno de los ojos y la pupila. Para terminar con el color naranja le vamos a dar forma la boca.

 

Pumpkin Bottle / Botella Calabaza

1. Paint the whole bottle orange just like the other bottles. / Pinta las botellas completamente de naranja, tal cual como lo hicimos con las demás botellas.

 

2. Once it is dry you can take the black color and make the shape of the eyes and the mouth. I made two faces for this bottle too. / Una vez que se haya secado puedes tomar el color negro y hacerle la forma de los ojos y la boca. A esta botella también le hice dos caras. 

Once all the bottles have dried, you can take a spray varnish and spray it on top of each bottle to make sure the paint lasts longer. This is only the beginning of an idea, you can also make other great characters such as Dracula, a typical halloween candy, a witch, etc. It all depends on your imagination and how much you want to decorate. / Una vez que las botellas se hayan secado puedes tomar un barníz en spray y rociarlo sobre las botellas para asegurar que la pintura duren por más tiempo. Esto es solo el comienzo de una idea, también puedes hacer otros personajes geniales como Drácula, un dulce típico de Halloween, una bruja, etc. Todo depende de tu imaginación y que tanto quieras decorar.
