Craft a plastic beach tote bag / Crea una bolsa plástica de playa

It’s that time of the year when you just want to get out of your routine and take a vacation. Are you by any chance planning a trip to the beach? If so you are going to love this tutorial! Having a good bag for the beach is a must, because why would we want to worry about not being able to place all of our stuff in the same bag? Most importantly, at least for me, is that it becomes annoying having to shake the sand off all our things when we are leaving the beach. / Es esa época del año en la que solo deseamos salir de la rutina y hacer un viaje. ¿Estás de casualidad planeando un viaje a la playa? ¡Entonces te encantará este tutorial! Tener una buena bolsa para la playa es esencial porque ¿por qué deberíamos preocuparnos por no poder guardar todas nuestras pertenencias en una misma bolsa?. Lo más importante es, o al menos para mí, que se vuelve molesto tener que sacudir la arena de nuestras cosas al irnos de la playa..

That is why I created a big tote bag, which is great for fitting clothes, sandals, sunblock, towels…etc, and most importantly made out of plastic!! This way it will be easy to clean and if your clothes are wet, there’s no problem! Our bag won’t get ruined. / Esta es la razón por la cual hice una bolsa de playa gigante, un gran tamaño para guardar ropa, sandalias, bloqueador, toallas… etc. ¡¡Y lo más importante es que esta hecho de plástico!! De esta forma sera fácil de limpiar y si tú ropa se encuentra mojada, ¡no hay problema! no se arruinará.

Materials needed / Materiales necesarios:

• 1 meter of transparent plastic / 1 metro de plástico transparente
• 1 meter of a pattern plastic / 1 metro de de plástico con algún patrón
• Scissors / Tijeras
• Tape / Cinta adhesiva
• Ruler / Regla
• Sewing machine / Maquina de coser
• Sewing thread / Hilo de coser
• 1-meter rope (two pieces) / 1 metro de cuerda (dos piezas)
• Curtain rings / Aros para cortinas
• 5000 glue / Resistol 5000

Steps / Pasos:

1. Lay both plastic fabrics on the floor, place the pattern plastic fabric on top with the pattern facing down. You can hold both pieces together with tiny pieces of tape. / Extiende ambas telas de plástico en el piso, pon la tela con patrón arriba de la otra con los patrones viendo hacia abajo. Puedes sujetar ambas piezas con pequeños pedazos de cinta adhesiva. 

2. Trace the following diagram onto your fabric. Then cut it out. / Traza el siguiente patrón a tu tela y después córtala. 

3. Fold it in half with the patterns facing the inside. / Dóblalo a la mitad con los patrones viendo hacia el interior.

4. Sew the left and right side by the edge. / Cose el lado izquierdo y derecho por la orilla.

5. Take the bottom corners and fold them to fit and sew them together. / Toma las esquinas de la parte de abajo y dóblalas para que embonen. Cóselas. 

6. Fold the top of your bag 5cm and sew it. / Dobla la parte superior de tu bolsa 5cm y cósela.

7. Taking the ruler divide the length of the top of our bag and place a mark for inserting curtain hooks. Make some holes with your scissors depending on the size of your curtain hooks. (We don’t want to make them too big or too small). / Toma la regla y divide la parte superior de la bolsa para marcar donde vamos a insertar los aros para cortinas. Haz los hoyos con las tijeras dependiendo del tamaño de los caros de las cortinas. (No queremos que sean o muy grandes o muy chiquitos)

8. Take each curtain ring and put glue to paste it on each side of our bag. / Toma cada aro para cortina y cúbrelo con resistol. Pégalo en cada lado de la bolsa.

9. Once our curtain rings have dried up, take our meter long rope and pass it through the rings making a knot at the end. / Una vez que se hayan secado los aros para cortinas, toma nuestra cuerda de un metro y pásala a través de los aros. Hazles un nudo al final.

We are done!! Now you can go enjoy your great tote bag on the beach!!! / ¡¡Hemos terminado!! ¡Ahora puedes disfrutar de tu gran bolsa en la playa!
