After seeing a lot of pattern decorations lately I got the idea of making this tutorial. A stamp can have many uses with the correct imagination. From table cloths, curtains, wrapping gifts, to card making. / Después de ver una gran cantidad de decoraciones con patrones últimamente, tuve la idea de hacer este tutorial. Un sello puede tener muchos usos con la imaginación correcta. Desde manteles, cortinas, envoltorios de regalos, hasta hacer tarjetas.
What will you need to make your stamp design? / ¿Que necesitarás para crear el diseño de tu sello?
Materials / Materiales:
- Scissors / Tijeras
- Linoleum / Linóleo
- Gouge / Guvia
- Ink / Tinta
- Roller / Rodillo
- Paper / Papel
Steps / Pasos:
1. We are going to cut the size of the stamp we want to make. In my case I want to make a small rectangle. / Vamos a recortar el tamaño de sello que queremos hacer. En mi caso quiero un pequeño rectángulo.
2. With a black marker we will draw our idea, in my case it will be a duck. Everything you paint with the marker is what will not be removed with the gouge. You have to think well what you want your design to show and what not when you put ink on it. / Con un marcador negro vamos a dibujar nuestra idea, en mi caso será un pato. Todo lo que pintes con el marcador es lo que no vamos a quitar con las guvias. Tienes que pensar bien que te gustaría que se muestre cuando vayas a ponerle tinta y que no para diseñar conforme a esta idea.
3. Now you can start cutting using the gouge / Ahora puedes comenzar a cortar usando la guvia
Tip: If you want to know how it is looking, you can take your marker and color over it to see what highlights and what doesn’t. This way you can know if you need to cut more on some parts or if you’re good to go. / Sugerencia: si deseas saber qué aspecto tiene, puedes colocar el marcador y pintar sobre él para ver qué destaca y qué no. De esta manera puedes saber si necesitas cortar más en algunas partes o si ya está listo.
4. Once finished cutting, take the ink and spread some on a pallete. With the roller go over the ink until it is covered evenly. Place the ink roller over your stamp and spread the ink evenly over it. / Una vez que termines de cortar, toma la tinta y esparce un poco sobre una paleta. Con el rodillo pasa sobre la tinta hasta que se haya cubierto uniformemente. Coloca el rodillo con tinta sobre tu sello y extiende la tinta sobre él uniformemente.
5. Grab your stamp full of ink carefully and place it on your colored paper. You can repeat step 4 as many times as you wish to stamp your design. / Tome su sello lleno de tinta con cuidado y colóquelo en su papel de color. Puede repetir el paso 4 tantas veces como desee para sellar su diseño.
You are done! My design was a duck with a bit of background, but you might as well take the lines out and just leave the duck. Hopefully you enjoyed this easy tutorial.
