How to make envelopes for cards?/¿Cómo hacer sobres para cartas?

Have you ever written a letter and not had an envelope to send it in? Instead of running to the store to buy your typical envelopes, why not try making your own? / ¿Alguna vez has escrito una carta y no has tenido un sobre? En lugar de correr a la tienda para comprar los sobres típicos, ¿por qué no hacer los tuyos?

With this simple tutorial you’ll learn to make simple envelopes. / Con este simple tutorial aprenderás a hacer sobres sencillos.

Materials / Materiales:

• A square paper / Un papel cuadrado
• Tape or glue / Cinta adhesiva o pegamento

Steps / Pasos:

1. Fold the square paper into a triangle and mark the edge with your fingers. Unfold and repeat with the other corners forming another triangle, we want to form a cross in our paper once we unfold it./ Dobla el papel cuadrado formando un triangulo y marca la orilla con los dedos. Desdobla y repite con las otras esquinas formando otro triángulo, queremos formar una cruz en nuestro papel una vez que lo desdoblemos.

2. Place the sheet as if it were a diamond, take the left and right end of the paper and fold them to the center of the square. We are going to mark the folds with our fingers. / Pon la hoja como si fuera un rombo, y tomando las puntas del lado izquierdo y derecho las vamos a doblar al centro de nuestro cuadrado. Vamos a marcar los dobleces con los dedos.

3. We take the bottom end of our paper and we will bend it a little below the center of our square. / Tomamos la punta de abajo de nuestro papel y la vamos a doblar un poco abajo del centro de nuestro cuadrado.

4. Turn the right corner to the same height that we folded the center in the previous step. Now repeat the process with the left corner. / Dobla la esquina derecha a la misma altura que doblamos la del centro en el paso anterior. Ahora repite el proceso con la punta izquierda. 

5. Taking the bottom part of our sheet, we are going to fold the paper halfway and we are going to fold the tip backwards. In the images below I’ve indicate with tape how we are going to glue the envelope. / Tomando la parte de abajo de nuestra hoja, vamos a doblar el papel hasta la mitad y la punta de este la vamos a doblar hacia atrás. En las imágenes señalo con cinta adhesiva como vamos a pegar el sobre. 

Now you can fold the top. You’re done! / Dobla la parte superior. ¡Haz terminado!
