Craft popsicle sticks shelves /Crea estantes de palitos de paleta

Contribute to the environment using recycled wooden popsicle sticks to create a beautiful shelf. We can get creative and make different shapes, but for this tutorial we’ll make a hexagonal shaped shelf. We can adapt these shelves to our living room or interior space by painting it at the end. / Podemos ayudar a contribuir al medio ambiente utilizando palitos de paleta de madera reciclados para crear un hermoso estante. Igualmente podríamos ser creativos y crear diferentes formas, pero para este tutorial crearemos uno con la forma de un hexágono. 

Do you feel like decorating your wall? This easy popsicle shelf tutorial will give your wall a nice decoration. / ¿Buscas decorar tu pared? Este tutorial sencillo de estantes de palitos de paleta le dará una bonita decoración. 

What will you need? / ¿Qué necesitarás?

Materials / Materiales:

• Silicone / Silicón

• Wooden popsicle sticks / Palitos de madera

• Colored varnish / Barníz de color

Steps / Pasos:

1. We are going to start with 6 of the popsicle sticks in order to create a hexagon shape. We need to take into consideration the stick we started with since we will be making several “levels” with them and we want all the sides to have the same number of sticks. / Vamos a comenzar con 6 de los palitos de paleta con los que crearemos la forma de un hexágono. Hay que tomar en consideración con que palito de paleta iniciamos ya que vamos a hacer varios “niveles” y no queremos que algún lado tenga más palitos o menos que los demás.

2. The number of levels we are going to make depends on the width you want to have. / La cantidad de niveles que vamos a hacer va a depender del ancho que quieras que tenga. 

3. Once we have finished gluing together our levels we should let the silicone dry. After the silicone has dried we’ll proceed by painting our shelf with our colored varnish. / Una vez que hayamos terminado de pegar los niveles dejaremos secar el silicon. Ya que se haya secado continuaremos pintando el estante con nuestro barníz de color.

5. We will let it dry once again and if it turns out to be the color you are looking for then you are done! You can now decorate your wall. / ¡Nuevamente lo dejaremos secar y si al secarse es del color que queremos entonces hemos terminado! Ya puedes decorar tú pared.
